My old HTC was stolen about 6 months ago. I had it blocked, informed SAPS and Vodacom and bought new phone. I thought I had a sim problem, sometimes it ask for the pin to unlock and then I did a sim swap on my Vodacom mobile about three weeks ago.
I chucked the old sim installed the new sim, when the old one went dead.
Sunday a friend told me that my voice mail now is in some Black Lingo.
Last night my dauhter tried to call me and I had no reception and she came to the female black voice and told my wife and the wors was feared, all while I am sitting having a beer.....needles to say I slept with the dogs last night...
But the questions is how in this world was my voice mail hacked ? What is the worst case that can happen ?
It seems none of call time was used or data bundle...
I do I prevent it to happen again ?

Sorry not sure I follow?

Have you tried actually TALKING to Vodacom about this?

Well I agree - I don't follow this completely either. But I have to say, I would sigh with weariness in anticipation of having to call Vodacom and TALk to them. However, I think you need to call them, be patient and get them to fix this. It is not the first time I have seen weird things happening with mailbox mix ups.

Let me try this approach:
1. My old HTC got stolen. I had the phone blocked , reported to Vodacom and SAPS.
2. I then got my new HTC with a new sim card (same number) and after a while the phone will every now and then ask for a pin no. I thought it might be a faulty sim and got an new sim card (same number) It is called a sim swop. The old card gets deleted and the new one activated.
3. A few weeks after the sim swop my voice mail greeting gets changed by some Black and speak in a black lingo. When people look for for me and I am not in recpetion area they are greeted by this black lingo.
4. When last did you try and call Vodacom ? Apart from all the security questions, taking ages, then you also speak to somebody who someties can hardly speak English. Catch 22. And then Vodacom deny the problem...so life in Africa is not for beginners.

I hate to tell you this, but it appears your old sim is still active. And depending on who of you and the other party puts the phone on last (or is it now first, can't remember), that person will be the only one who will be able to receive calls.

Instead of phoning Vodacom, and bitching here on the forum, have you tried to call 121 and setup your voicemail?

Thanks, yes it sounds like either one of the two old simcards are still active. Did Vodacom not switch them off when I requested a new sim ? Well then how do I put it to Vodacom now ? O and I am willing to put money on this one, they will switch off the wrong card...the one I am using.

Give them the sim number (it's written on the sim itself) just to make sure. Yes, don't be retarded enough to phone from the same sim :D

She should always fear the wors! :D

Captain Moron, I gather you are employed for your looks only ? Because surely that is the first thing one do, is it not ?
I asked for educated advise and a deeper understanding of the breech, not pre-school logics. I have been warned not to feed the trolls !
Thanks to the others and for the possibilities that might be the problem. I will rather go see the Vodacom Technical office in Bellville. Maybe the phone thieves can still be caught......ya dream on !

The only "moron" on here is you. The problem with your sim card sounds like an ID10T error, rather than a "breech" :D

EDIT: I suggest that you consult a dictionary as you spell like a "moron".
