Brian Chesky (born August 29, 1981) is an American internet developer and is best known for being the founder and CEO of Airbnb, a hospitality exchange service.
Brian grew up in Niskayuna, NY, and attended the Rhode Island School of Design where he met Joe Gebbia, who would later go on to be co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Airbnb.
Airbnb was started in August 2008 by Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia. The company was incubated at Y Combinator. In its first year the company began internationalizing and opened several new offices in Europe.
Touted as a "disruptive" innovation for the Hotel Industry, Airbnb was awarded the "breakout app" at the 2011 South by Southwest conference.
