Bricked Huawei P7

So about two months ago I tried updating my P7 and I somehow managed to soft-brick it. I unlocked the bootloader (or something to that effect, it's been a while now) and wiped the device, then tried flashing the new firmware onto it. No matter what I do I couldn't get it to load the firmware. I even tried reloading the stock Vodacom firmware (b123) but nada. The only thing I ever get is the Vodacom boot screen and then it goes into a boot-loop.

I took it in to a local cell repair shop and they spent about 6 weeks trying to get it to work, but no dice.

Does anyone know these phones at all? I have a weird feeling Vodacom does something to prevent users tampering with them, because even when I couldn't even manage to flash the boot logo. Would really like to get this phone working again because I'm on an S4 Mini and it's like downgrading from a BMW to a Citi Golf. The warranty is obviously void so Vodacom won't fix it for free, if they can even fix it.

I remember unlocking the firmware of my J1-ace a couple of months ago.
When you flash the phone it would pass all the tickets but once you restart the device it revert back to the previous bootloader the vodacom one. So I read somewhere on the forums you need to flash the phone and when it's done take out the battery and unplug the phone while it's still showing the upgrade screen. If it reboots with the battery still in it, it reverts back to to the previous bootloader.
I just closed my eyes and hoped for the best since I already have a semi-bricked phone. After flashing it and taking out the battery when it's done it booted straight into my Recover software and worked :D.

Have you tried iFixit? They are now the agents for all things Huawei.

That might be part of the problem. I don't believe you can take out the P7 battery, or at least you're not supposed to be able to. Whenever I try to install the update packages through the recovery firmware it always fails to verify the package. I tried flashing it manually by unpacking the update package and doing everything one by one but that just brings up the bootloop again.

iFix you mean? I'll give them a try then. I think there's one close to me.

So I seem to have fixed it. I went out today and got an 8gb SD card and the first ROM I tried worked. I think it might have been either because it was a ****ty brand SD card or because it was only 4GB. It's really odd.

Either way, thank god I got it working again. 1 more day on the S4 Mini and I might have shot someone.
