Hey all

Some advice, please.

I updated my Telkom Mega105WR router with the RouterTech 2.6 firmware (the test tool indicated compatibility) and the upgrade was supposedly successful... based on the message post update. It is anything but fine though... router no longer connects to DSL or assigns IP addresses to PCs. I can no longer just type in 10.0.0.2 and login to the firmware. When connecting via USB, the PC detects that it is connected but I can't do anything useful with it.

Has the router been bricked?

Thanks!

it might be, do you see any marks on the router / bricks laying around?

Maybe you should scratch the Telkom label off. Then it doesn't have to be ashamed anymore :D

Try pressing the reset button at the back for 10 seconds until the router flashes its lights at you. Then try again.

try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100 - it defaults to one of those. search for a thread i did in adsl discussion about upgrading the firmware on a mega100wr2 to routertech.

Did u come right ? And which version did your flash it with ? Standard or ROHS ?
