Chaos and violence erupted at an EFF Northern Cape conference at the weekend leaving a trail of blood, The Star reported on Monday.

Members armed with machetes, pangas and bricks converged at the Savoy Hotel in Kimberley on Sunday, where the provincial leadership was to be elected.

There was reportedly a jostling for top posts between incumbent provincial leader Aubrey Baartman and a conference delegate, Ronald Februarie.

The front doors of the hotel were broken open and bricks flew between the different Economic Freedom Fighters factions, with people running and hiding behind cars.

Februarie was seen running out of the building with blood pouring out of his mouth and down his arm.

Inside the venue, furniture and doors were smashed, blood was smeared on the passage floor and EFF members hurled insults at each other before police arrived.

One reporter was forced to take cover and call the police for help after delegates tried to take his camera.

EFF co-ordinator Mmabatho Mokause was hit on the head with a chair.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidoo was unable to immediately confirm Sunday's incident.

But she told Sapa that a case of assault was opened on Saturday.

"One EFF member alleged that another member assaulted him and a case was opened," she said, referring to Saturday's incident.

The ANC was too good for them, so they crawled down to the EFF.

Well we are part of the Brics.

Issue them with knives at the door I say.

Nothing else to say. They are doing it all by themselves!

This is why we should be very fearful of supporting the EFF in any way, shape or form.
I pretty much only support the fact that they are drawing votes away from the ANC.
But as a party they are a bunch of blood thirsty radicals.

I cannot agree any more than this. This is also the people who wants everything divided 'equally' amongst the people, then you will see bricks. However the EFF do represent their voter base...

Easy to say, but where do you go?

Other countries also have their problems...

People cause problems
Therefore lots of people cause lots of problems
Therefore to minimise the amount of problems, minimise the amount of people.
Therefore either emigrate to Namibia or Mongolia :D

Can't we give them dynamite to blow each other up a la Spy vs Spy?
Mad magazine in real life! - I fear we have it already.

This is exactly how I see them. Dangerous as hell, advocating disregard for norms of society. No respect for the law of the country, so do as you please, beat anyone who does not agree with you.

Not much different from Zuma himself.
