Any good places on the net where i can get brightmail support ?
A forum would be nice, otherwise anything will really do.

Thanks

No idea... u running it on exim? why not use spam assassin?

edit: omg... its a Symantec product... good luck with that!

Yup - Symantec.

What's the issue?

Symantec is an issue :D that said, no, I have no idea where to get support for this, however, since its commercial propriety software, have you contacted the vendor as they should support it.

Agreed with what Wiz said - contact the reseller.

We ditched symantec as they're getting slow and bloated.

Getting some errors in logs files.
I guess it's nothing major, because spam filtering is working, however i would like to know what the errors mean and how i can fix it.

Log errors are never nice....

Yes, its Symantec. It's working cool so far, except for the error logs.

I phoned Cyberdetectives, but their support person doesn't know what he's talking about, and funny thing is, i chose them over AVES because of better support. :o

I'll try again..... :(

Perhaps email Symantec directly. Explain to them the guy who sold you the product does not know how to support it, and perhaps email them with the log errors you are getting. *shrug* good luck!

LOL !
Okay.....

I'm getting 3 errors, i think they're all related, and are repeated more often than not in the logs.

6 Mar 2008 16:30:27 (ERROR:7028.3664): [17017] SieveModuleConfig: fatal errors caused the sieve module to not start.

6 Mar 2008 16:30:11 (ERROR:7028.3664): [17012] SieveModuleConfig: group script: sieve parser failed at line: 6, last token $undefined..

6 Mar 2008 16:30:11 (ERROR:7028.3664): [27051] init_modules: error while calling init function for module libsieve.

These 3 instances repeat everytime...
I'm busy searching the symantec knowledge base, but if anybody knows any solutions to this, i will be very thankful ! :D

It looks like Sieve and Brightmail are not communicating. It looks like brightmail has not being compiled to work with sieve.

bit lazy and occupied at the mo...

brightmail is rather verbose with it's logging, and throws up a ****load of errors/messages on every ruleset update.

you only really care about the errors when things don't work, there's lots, and lots of them, and / or they fill your drive.
