On a side note, I'd rather have them not touch anything now since it's been ages since iBurst has been performing this well in CT

Looks like iBurst in CT is still running nicely, at least now I'm getting what I'm paying for.:D

Mr H you have a good connection?

Since this morning I could'nt load most sites due to timeouts, changed IP and there was some improvement however timeouts and internet local & intl is down to a crawl again....

Please advise which IP set you are using?

Rgds

Hi Michael, as stated in another thread as well as this one my connection is really "rocking", it's been ages since it was this good.

As for IP ranges, well I've had both the 196.46.64.xxx as well as the 41.208.xxx.xxx and both ranges have been working fine my side.

After what you said I have a feeling I'm going to also have it bad once/if "they" start fiddling with the network again.

I have serious connection issues, pages don’t display, timeouts, low speed, downloads and basically just a real ****ty connection.

Can you please check and paste which IP you are on currently, minus the last octet of course?

Thanks

M

41.208.234.xx

I did try changing IPs a few times and all performed more or less the same.

I've been getting stunning speeds this morning. The Web is almost as though it's on my HDD.

Speeds were great last night just after midnight when I became uncapped again. I guess that would be because most people were still capped not having reset their connection.

I got one amazing IP in the 196 range which has 350ms international pings and the usual low local pings. I think I'll try keep it for the whole month :)

Could someone kindly take the time to briefly explain how my IP affects my iBurst speed? When I try ping google.com/anything...I get a "general failure" message.... any advice?

:( I'll take that link as a job well done Michael. Great work :)

The general failure problem isn't to do with your internet (as long as it works that is) could be a few things, try googling that. Eg: Firewall, faulty Network Card (try pinging 127.0.0.1), Settings on your network card etc..

I honestly don't really know how the IP affects your speeds, it shouldn't really, except in iBurst's case where some IP's seem to use different bandwidth providers resulting in better international latency and better/worse speeds.
