Make Weapons easier to come by...

I think ppl that have experience with weapons ( especially the guys who did their 1-2 years millitary service ), should be allowed to get weapons without too much effort, pistols, shotguns, bazooka's, etc...Why??...In a country where mostly everything is related around "Security", are we not allowed to protect ourselves?
Criminals get their weapons via stealing or black-market...and cannot be traced, nor NEED to purchase a license...

Why - fighting tanks ?

Ourselves

Non criminals may not own guns to defend themselves with, as that would reduce the criminal element, and hence the ANC support base.
Simple, really.

Weird actually...Who knows how to handle weapons better than the Army or EX-Army guys??...****, now you have to go for a "coarse"....I was still one of the guys who did 2 years AND 8 camps...

You speak as though your right to carry weapons has been taken away.

You can still get a licence, it is just that the processes are just more detailed than before, there things you have to comply with, like how you are going to safekeep that weapon. The story from Swartruggens should provide an example of why that is necessary.

Who is to judge who is experianced? In that same token ex Umkhoto soldiers should also get weapons without much effort.

I don't know what you gonna do with a bazooka, but it can't be anything good.;)

I would love to see semi-auto rifles reintroduced into SA. Farmers and homeowners alike would be glad to ave the extra firepower of the AK-47. (Or semi-auto variants...WASR-10, ROMAK, etc--the AK-47 proper is a full-auto weapon with a "happy switch")

Another thing...Why did the gov stop the Comando's? At least they still tried guarding the farmers and there were jobs available...
I want weapons for PROTECTION.....not to go murder someone over a mere R20-00...nothing else.
