Anyone using the above unit?
Used for wireless HDMI transmission, has a dedicated transmitter/receiver, supposedly in 1080p.

Ideally looking for a unit that can use my existing wireless network so wouldn't need a "transmitter" (i.e. it would use my existing wireless network adaptor), but would only need some kind of receiver that would plug into the TV/Monitor.
Not sure if this is possible/available. Can someone offer me advice on this?

I would rather use cables, you can get HDMI to Cat5 adapters that can be used over longer distances using network cables.

About the HDMI to Cat5 adaptor, do you then obviously need an adaptor to convert it back to HDMI at the screen side?
Do you have any product/model that you are aware of to do this?

Regarding the need for wireless, we want to put up a screen in our meeting area that will give live production figures updates, and will run from a dedicated computer for this. So cable might be fine for this.
However, we want the option to transmit from someone elses computer/laptop if need be for other stuff, and hence this transmitter that just plugs into your HDMI port (and is reasonably small) can then just be moved around as needed. We don't want to have this cable running loose that people need to always plug in to, to power the screen.

This specific model of transmitter/receiver appears to work well from the reviews I've seen, however I also don't know of many other units that can do the same thing. And it isn't trerribly expensive. If it works well, I might get one for home!
Who knows, maybe I'm the first in South Africa to want to buy it

Hi, I've got the BV-2500 ... Works well if you have line of sight between the devices ... They claim these things will transmit through walls, but remember the Yanks have drywalls ... Forget about going through brickwalls or safety glass ... I even stuck my two units on opposite sides of one wall, ie, just a few cm apart and then the connection is VERY unstable. Also, when I have a lot of activity on my WiFi network in the house, the sound would sometimes cut out.

I think the BV-2500 was the pre-cursor to the BV-2322. the BV-2500 needed direct line of sight, the BV-2322 doesn't.
Also I've read that there is a minimum distance needed between the units, possibly even though on opposite sides of the wall, move the one unit further away?
With Amazon there is a return policy, so I will see about getting it in the next few weeks, and report back.
If someone can suggest another option, I'd be keen to hear about it.

They actually have a few models, but they all use the exact same Amimon WHDI chips for transmission. The exact same transmission distances were claimed for the BV-2500. I played around a lot with different placement positions and I guarantee you these things are very finicky(sp?). One of the biggest problems is also that the two devices you are connecting needs to do their HDMI handshake over this connection and it would sometimes take up to 40 seconds for video and audio to return if you change the input device. I'm a gadget freak and , yes, I still use mine, but I can honestly not recommend it. There is also a very very slight degradation in video quality, regardless of all their claims about "uncompressed" 1080p ... the Amimon chips do use compression ... I think BriteView like to claim that it is lossless, though, but they're lying.

EDIT: oh, btw, with the BV2322, BriteView added a loopthrough for the HDMI on the transmitter side. Apart from that, it is absolutely identical to the BV-2500.
