British Passport renewal

Hi guys, just looking for a bit of help.

Im in the proccess of renewing my british passport and i have a few questions that some of you may know the answers to:

1. I have printed the forms out, but they are in black and white, where as on the website, they are yellow. Will this be an issue?

2. It says i need 2 colour photos, but i remember the first time i applied ( about 12 years ago), there was a problem with the photos. Does any1 know the specifics of the photos?

3. How long do you think i am looking at before i get my passport back?

I am in quite a rush to get this sorted. I have just finished my studies and want to leave asap.My gf is also moving abroad in about a month, and i dont want to be stuck in my routine sitting thinking about her, i want to get out there and start fresh!

The ones I sent in were yellow, I think they need to be, not sure.

It's biometric, so they want the structure of your face. Don't smile or make any other expression. Close your mouth, don't wear head gear or face jewellery. Pretty standard stuff. They might need someone to verify that is you in the photograph, they would need to sign the photograph. Hopefully a British Citizen that is not family, otherwise an English speaking South African of decent social standing, it's on the form.

Took about 10 days for me.

I really hope it will only take about 10 days, then i wont have to be the person that has to drive back from the airport alone after saying goodbye :)

Still a bit worried about the colour of the documents, as i said, if they have to be yellow or if they can be black or white. I dont see them mention it anywhere on the forms.

Why not give one of the consulates a call and find out. Since the forms are provided for download I doubt that they have to be reproduced faithfully but that's just my opinion.
 
Reading a little more, I suspect that the colour coding is for your benefit.
Yellow = Adult passport application
They probably just colour code them to make it more difficult for you to print and fill out the wrong form. It probably doesn't matter if you print it out in black and white.

What form do I need to fill in?
If you are applying for an adult passport you should use a yellow Adult (C1) form [PDF, 205KB]. We accept forms printed in black and white. If printing on any paper size other than A4 please scale the document to paper size or reduce the size of the document by 5%.
