JOHANNESBURG - Firefighters have managed to bring a massive blaze at the Broadacres Shopping Centre in northern Johannesburg under control.

Emergency officials and around seven large fire trucks were sent to the scene.

It is still not clear what sparked Friday evening’s blaze.

No injuries have been reported.

Earlier on Friday, thick black smoke was hovering over above the area.

Large pieces of debris could be seen falling from the roof of the Nando's restaurant.

Flames could be seen from as far away as William Nicol Drive.

Traffic in the area was severely affected as passing motorists slowed down to catch a glimpse.

Chicken is going to be a bit overdone -
