Broadband competition? Not so much

How real is broadband competition? A new study out from Kagan Research suggests that there's not much competition where it matters: price. Though many US markets have access to both DSL and cable modems, no pricing battles have erupted between the two services, and none are expected in the near future.

its pretty real
you have to bare in mind that most telco's abroad have had to adapt to a liberalised telecoms market before broadband, and in some cases dial up.
and to remain compeditive, currently, they are totally service driven. prices are and were reasonable, and the service was accessable to a large portion of consumers (prices naturally dropped to up take).
it'll happen here... eventually... one hopes
