Hi All...

I have just returned from the Uk and am looking for Internet for the house.

Preferably something wireless , and uncapped .

I have had a look around and have come across this...

http://www.axxess.co.za/uncapped.php

and also the Neotel prime uncapped but am unsure if there are better options.

The lines will be used for downloads and well as console gaming and I would like to have constant connection.

You advise and assistance would be greatly appreciated and I am not sure who offers the best services in SA

Regards
Darren

Which games are you looking at playing?
Note that most Wireless options here have very bad pings and latency to international servers.
Though with that being said, you're likely to get more concrete answers from the Gaming Forums.

That option you have linked from Axxess is for ADSL, which is a fixed line.
Though you could use Wimax.
ADSL overall is the "better" option when taking gaming into consideration.

Neotel is a "no-no" for gaming.

Also dependent in what area you are going to be staying, there is no guarantee of coverage at the moment.
And though you will have coverage, there are so many issues of dropped signals and disconnecting on the Neotel network that it's really not viable.
Though there have been the odd few whom have been enjoying their Neotel experience.

Other wireless options are Vodacom and MTN's 3G, though you're going to fork out alot of cash and still have latency issues for gaming.

Some more info like:
Where are you going to be staying? (Suburb included)
How many GB's per month are you looking at shredding through?
And which games you're looking at playing, would narrow down viable options to consider.

For fast first-person or racing games, wireless has too much latency to any servers... Local or international. You really need a line.

Thanks for the help so far !!!

I am in Kibler Park south of JHB
I would estimate at about 20/30GB
Pretty much all online games for the PS3

Thanks again.

3G is not the way to go. I made the mistake of signing a 2 year contract a little while ago so I could jam online and it is not advisable. Even on local the best I get it about 120 - 150 ping. You get whooped without even realising it. I got my dsl last week, and it is MUCH better - between 20 - 50 ping local, 50 - 100 international.

To give you and idea, on international with my 3G, in COD4 I emptied a clip on a couple of guys and left them standing, as by the time i pull the trigger they have moved again, and only appear to be in my crosshairs. Best to go with fixed line...
