The broadband revolution gathered pace at the very opening of Infotech when Clickpost launched itself in the high speed Internet arena. Sticking to its motto of Internet for the People, the Mauritius Post subsidiary broke the Telecom Plus monopoly on Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL). It revealed new subscriber packages, which put the heat on Telecom Plus even if they were not exactly groundbreaking.

I can only imagine/dream where South Africa could be in 5 years if only we ended Telkom's monopoly, there are so many good things that can happen with affordable (i.e. not overpriced) broadband.

I would really like to see the other 50% of ISP related school telephone bills being dropped- if Telkom wants to remain a monopoly then government must force Telkom to provide schools with 100% free access to the information highway, just give all schools ADSL512 unrestricted.

There are just sooooo many ways that Telkom is holding everyone back.
