There are workarounds for them, so you can buy the hardware you want and still use it on your own network.I'm contemplating using my laptop for "out of office" communications. In theory you can go to Game and buy any modem on pre-paid. Some try to prevent use by other networks through the software. There is plenty of advice about getting around that. You don't have to buy an unpopular modem to avoid the hassle.Yes, I don't want to enter into any contract to get a modem.
