Hi Everyone

Was wondering if anyone could help me on this. Before today I was sharing my ADSL internet connection with my laptop via my Desktop computer (through WIFI peer to peer).

Today I bought a Gigabyte wireless broadband router and then only realised that my Telkom USB POTS could not plug into it (stupid).

I've decided to keep it but was wondering if its possible to share the internet connection from my desktop VIA this router (as it acts as a access point as well?). Everything else works - I can browse my desktop from my laptop but just cant seem to connect onto the internet...

Any ideas? Is it possible?

For many routers you can set a gateway address. So, you can probably enable internet connection sharing on your PC and then set the gateway address on the router to point to your PC. With the PC ethernet cable plugged into the router WAN port. Then the laptop can connect to the wireless router, from there to the PC and from there to the USB modem to ADSL. And with the PC in a different IP subnet from the laptop.

So, it is probably time to start saving up for an ethernet ADSL modem. :)

haha you right... I'll give it a try, will let know. Thanks hey
