After letting me work up to now on a 2.4Ghz P4 The office just game me a 2nd hand broken Compaq nc6320 laptop. When I try to turn it on I don`t even get a blinking light.
So I figure that I should order a new battery. ?.. ??... ?????
Or can it possibly be the motherboard?

If they expect you to troubleshoot it then battery and PSU? would be the first things to check, though put a multimeter on the battery and see first.

Good luck. The whole 632x series is crap. If the graphics adapter hasn't gone tits-up then it's only a matter of time. When it does, the machine will likely end up locking up every now and then with a lovely pattern of grey and dark blue lines.

As an incidental, if you look at the specs you'll discover that the manufacturer doesn't support the graphics anymore and the driver's something like four years old.

Might be the AC adapter... it doesn`t have a green LED that indicates power, tried licking it but my tongue can't reach the inner pin.

well, either I troubleshoot it or it goes to the IT dept over the next few months.. or i`ll probably never see it again.
hmm... the latter sounds like the best option atm.

seems to be the AC adapter.

If anyone can give me quotations for an ac adapter, battery, port replicator, and usb keypad for a compaq nc6320, please pm me.
