My brother's laptop broke somehow (not sure myself) and he would like to know if it is repairable.

The hinge on the left broke.
He wants to know if he can get a new cover for the laptop.

Any Ideas?
Can the manufacturer fix it?

Prolly cost half the laptop's price to replace the "hinge"

on Laptop it's usally only ram and hdd's that replaceble. All else is normally to expensive to replace (if you can find the parts)

Still worth looking into, otherwise GOOG for that model number (with -memory -battery modifiers to cut all those dratted hits out) and try to find the bit you need overseas: you're talking about something thin and light so it shouldn't work out too costly.

Google for it. There are online stores which sell that sort of part, especially for commodity laptops like Acer.

eBay? - many spares there - got my new Dell lid plastic from there - fairly reasonable... 10th of the cost and a genuine part!
