I've had and HP laptop branded as nx9010 its at least 5 years old, A couple a months ago it fell from about 1.5 meters and refused to "wake up" ever since. The warranty was long over so I took it to a PC repair guy in my area. He checked it out and said nothing could be done. So, being a little inquisitive, I opened it up and fiddled around with some parts, removed the mobo etc, basically dismantled the whole thing and put it back together. It still doesnt work tho, when the power is turned on, the screen and lights light up. but nothing happens, any advice on what I should do? Will I get any money for it as spare parts? I've seen another thread here with a guy with a similar problem........ BTW it was a pentium4 processor, screen HD, DVD etc. are still intact, KB has a missing key tho (not related to fall).

I have one of those lying next to me, needs a new HD. I would not pay money for it as it is really old in laptop terms.

Have you tried an external monitor on it or removed the HD.

Remove as many components as possible and start it up.
