A sad day indeed, I went to adjust the tilt on my centre speaker & it just snapped off, I never applied that much force or in the wrong direction (Logitech z5500), I just bought them about 6-8 months ago, & there is a 1 year warrenty.

So my question is, does the warrenty included stuff like this? :( :( :(

Just cause the Z5500 are better than your old, outdated Z680's :D

Sounds quite bizarre... I have the same set, and I couldn't imagine a speaker breaking without considerable force.

I doubt the warranty will cover it... super glue maybe?

No the warranty wont cover soething you obviously broke yourself. No matter how easy it was, (short of coming off itself) because there i nothing wrong with it, its just fragile.

Even though those speakers arent meant to be. Well your going to have to make a plan for keaping it steady, or youll have to try buy another one somewhere.

u sure that someone couldnt have knocked the speaker onto the floor in the last few months, thus makin the stand weaker??

well whatever happened, put some super glue on & now am waiting to see how it turns out, think I'll leave it over night before I try standing it again..

For the same price as the 5500 one can get a huge home theatre system with full-range surrounds, instead of those small 2" drivers. My Pioneers HTS was 500 bucks more than the 5500 and it takes it out like a loose tooth :)

as i have said numerous times before - logitech are crap speakers.

Halicon I totally agree with you. I hate the sound of Logitechs. Nice bass for rap and some games etc.. but especially bad for music. Compared to good systems that is.

So cant you help me out with my new speakers question... i want to get Altec Lansing MX5021 2.1 speakers. there are mostly good reviews about them, but it is a bit mixed.

And Im not shure if they will suit my taste in music (METAL) that well. They should be great, but I dont want to be dissapointed. What do you think are the best 2,1's around. Looking at no more that R1500, but I am willing to spend that amount. frm what I see you can get any 2,1's for that price in SA, unless the gigaworks 250D can be found anywhere and cost moe than that. but they should be around R2500 and I dont think they are worth the money.
