Looking to purchase a new printer. The following are my options I have narrowed down to:
Epson Ecotank ITS L3060
Brother DCP-T510W

Expert advise welcome. Also, best place to purchase at best price in Gauteng East Rand

PS: tired of buying a printer when the ink or toner runs out

What did you end up getting? And what is your view of it? Have to make similar choice now.

I recommend staying away from Brother. My current one cost a fortune and I will never support the brand again. Average to below average quality printing, painfully slow compared to anything else I've owned and it stops printing if I shut down my PC or close the app that initiated the print.

I bought the Brother DCP-T510W. In my humble opion it is a very good printer. The consumables are reasonably priced and judging from my printing habits, should last quite a while. The printer comes with a 3 year warranty as to other 2 year warranty. Very happy with the printer.

I own 2 x J105(3 years+). No issues with both. Ink cost R150 for 1000 pages (they claim 2400) and colour R450( set of 3) for 800 pages. My one am still on the original cartridges and still about 20%. I have used scanning function a lot and I happy to recommend brother.

There are XL and std cartridges available for most brother printers.

XL will be more cost effective per page.

Got the MFC-J6530DW. Connectivity, ease of installation, print speed and quality is pretty good. Jury is still out on photo scan quality, but document scan quality is good. Have absolutely no complaints sofar.

I ended up getting the Epson L6170 as I was uneasy about the number of adf issues reported with the brother (was looking at the DCP-T710W). There is a big price difference between the two (about R3000) but that is partly made up with the amount of free stuff that comes with the epson - business bundle with samsung tablet and photo paper and it has 2 x set of ink bottles and a rebate). So far so good, will report back when I have run it for a while.

Bump.

I'm looking at:
Brother DCP-T510W and the Epson L3150

Thoughts?
