Hi, I've got a problem when it comes to browsing, I'm currently with axxess & am using firefox 1.5!

When I browse some pages will load up fine but sometimes they will say "server not found" although if I hit refresh after it says this, it will sometimes load the page correctly.

Have I messed up one of my settings or is it ISP related ??

I've been having the same problem for months now... my DNS is setup perfectly and i have a DNS caching proxy in my router but every couple of hours i get a site that comes up like that.

Also when i do an nslookup from the command prompt - it often times out and then as soon as i try again then it replies with a result.

Why are the DNS servers so slow to respond?

I also have the same problem, but with dial-up.

Will browse happily, then this problem will pop up, but as soon as I do a whois, the problem goes away.

Well, I'm pretty dissapointed, I called axxess the other day & they never came back to me, customer service what a crock, feels like I've taken a bite of soap

Will call again tomorrow.................

Does anyone know the IP address for those telkom DSL modems, can't find it anywhere

I am having the same problem. Only certain website domain names can't be found.

I am using SAIX DNS servers.

[Edit]
Changed my DNS from
Primary DNS: 196.25.1.11
Secondary DNS: 196.43.1.11
to
Primary DNS: 196.25.255.34
Secondary DNS: 196.25.255.3

and it's working now.

OMG - just had the problem AGAIN when i clicked the reply button

And the problem gets even worse when i go to one of my clients - they're on MWeb and don't have a DNS cache in their router. Lookups bomb about 30% of the time - its a little rediculous!!
