Hey hey,

Anyone here used Brutech before? They have really decent prices, trying to figure out if they are legit or not

@|tera| Time to upgrade that Nexus One
Nope. Any other shopping site work flawlessly. It's usually sites with video (youtube), large size images etc. that chow the memory.

Seems like it's the animations and content loading below it that crashes the tab.

Edit: It's a Redmi-Go. Not a beast of a phone.

The website is atrocious on desktop as well. Opening tabs all over the place when you click the menu.

A year ago people was still in the opinion that there is no place to accommodate newcomers to this etail segment, but clearly this sentiment didn't stop new competitors to enter the market. I had a conversation with my account manager last year at a certain distributor, and he told me that they have never had this many new account sign ups.

I am happy, I always appreciate more competition and competition may result in innovation.

Wootware is a prime example of a good Ecom website.

No 1080p front page images and has a lot of filters.

This site is just god awful.

Haha yeepers didn't expect this reaction :D sooo has anyone used them?

Howzit Bru's :D

Ewald here from Brutech :)

Hope you all had a super kiff day :D

Regarding the feedback to the website; thank you all for your honest criticism, I have sent it through to our team of Spider-Men; and we are resolving the issues with the slow loading times; horrible performance especially on mobile phones and asked them to add filters to the products to make the website browse much easier, we will also implement a search bar for convenience sake; the website has already been GZipped as well.

As @Fulcrum29 mentioned we are using Wordpress in general, with shared hosting from Afrihost, we are planning on upgrading to cloud based hosting and implementing Cloudflare CDN.

On my side apologies for the horrible experience on the website; we will improve on it :)

Any feedback is welcome on how we can improve further on the website, I will be following this post closely :)

Stay Kiff; Stay Safe

They need to rebuild it from the ground up in my opinion.

Keep it clean and simple. Many will agree that if a website isnt easy to operate at first glance then they are going to close that web page as fast as possible and click on another link in google. One product per scroll is a big no no.

Horrible site, no filters or sorting.

Please also minimize that annoying chat window.

The One product per scroll, I am assuming you mean on the mobile version of the website? We are working on fixing that :)

It is only that Jetpack is a poor Wordpress solution, the worst product in the Automattic stable. There are better optimisation tools.

The rest are QoL improvements, many which have been suggested here by the community.

Howzit Everyone :D!

Hope you all had a stunning week so far :)

We did make a few changes to the website from last week; and are continuing to improve :D

Next step is to make sure the website doesn't go all gluttonous on the mobile data side and adding product filters :D

Just my 2c,

1. Some of your menu links open in new tabs, e.g. https://www.brutech.co.za/shop/software/

2. I'd put the menu on the top left and the logo on the top right. Your user's eyes will typically first focus on the top left of a webpage as English is a left-to-right language - just think about when you open a book or a menu at a restaurant. It's not critical but its something I noticed after 4yrs of doing software localization.
