getting BSOD randomly with my games cod bo, bad company 2, every
30 minutes - 1 hour.

dxgkrnl.sys (direct x graphics kernel ) , win32k.sys (F* knows but it bugs me in cod bo)

are the main culprits.

call of duty 4 runs perfectly the whole day.

i am using 2 gig ddr3 1333 kingston ram, im thinking the problem should go away if i get more ram ? going to run a memtest tonight to see if its bad ram ...

now i know there is a fix for dxgkrnl.sys but i cant install the update it says its not meant for my machine even though i pass validation.
:confused::confused:

last time i had this issue there was a tiny grain of dried thermal paste on the CPU contacts.

howsit , thanx ill have a look at those if i havent already :p

thing is , i ran memtest and it popped up with 14 errors within 22 minutes so maybe thats why its BSOD . should i try check those threads before taking the ram back ?

its going to be such a hassle to take it back sigh

Then it's defiantly your ram, take it back asap, if you can't have it swapped out for a new one, then you should chuck it and buy a new one different one :)

Out of interest where did you purchase it from?

its obvious , cheapest place to buy 2 gb ddr3 in durban ;) only pc zone . stuff that fell off the back of a truck ! its not the first product either . ive had to replace a gfx card there 4 times in one month. prophecy shop i bought my 5770 a year ago and its still awesome.

Well then you're just punishing yourself time and time again, I used to buy from pczone, till I found NGR, I have never used pczone since, they are total crap when it comes to customer support and product quality, which is where NGR thrives. NGR are in Durban north so us Durbanites get cheaper shipping. I have never had a problem with NGR they are perfect in what they do.

R324+R45=R369 Just confirm with either Nick or Cameron on the warranty. :)

no prob shot for the help man , yeah i wrote pc zone off my list for gfx cards / mobo combo suppliers but looks like ill have to take them off my list of ram suppliers aswell.

need my ram fixed asap cant work without my pc sigh so im not going to wait 3 days for just another 2gb. monday im going to give em hell

thanx , i did have a look at that aswell just incase but everything is good. turns out it was the ram afterall as i ran a overnight test , that one stick 2gb is just one big error on its own

i ran furmark benchmark now and hit 89 Celsius on 1920x1080 fps 60. ati 10.10 drivers , so the graphics card + psu is ruled out. i think its pretty stable with stock cooling:p (its a bit hot in the room aswell so its adding unrealistic figures to the gfx temperature , its usually around 67 deg)

so that leaves : memory and memory controller ? i highly doubt its the cpu as it worked fine , my bios is updated to latest aswell. that leaves just the memory , totalling 139 errors on memtest86+ on 9 passes SIGH
