Here's the email I sent to them - it's self explanatory.

Good day Steven.

First of all I need to say that I usually receive good service at BT Games Pavillion which is where I purchase my XBOX360 games but today I had an experience that left me with a very sour taste and I will probably not be purchasing games anymore from BT Games (3 or 4 titles per month).

Earlier this week I was browsing the BT Games website and saw that Fable 3 Collectors Edition was available for pre-order. I proceeded to order it on Tuesday 26/10/2010 via the website as I had phoned the Pavillion branch and they told me pre-orders need to be done either over the website or in-store.(Note that I clearly mentioned wanting to order Fable 3 Collectors Edition - I was told it's still available for pre-order.)

Pre-order was done on that same day and I received my confirmation email that my game had been ordered and was to be picked up at the Pavillion store today (Friday 29/10/2010).

Upon arrival at the store, I was sorely disappointed to find out that my game had not been delivered, my reference number was not on the system and when the female staff member phoned somebody to query it, I was told that my confirmation number was for a game called Mercenaries (A game I haven't even heard of upto this point.) The male member of staff present was quite adamant that I required to receive a SMS telling me that my game was available for pick-up (Note that I have been through all the links where this bit of information should have been included as well as both the emails I received from you guys(I've attached both emails for your reference.)).

Now I'm being told that there is no way for me to get a collectors edition as only a certain number are had been ordered.

Fair enough, I understand that only a limited number of the collectors edition are made as the collectors edition is obviously something that everybody can purchase and making large numbers available defeats the purpose.

My points are the following:

1. I placed the order on 26/10/2010 . I was to pick it up on 29/10/2010. Surely during this period somebody should have realised that there was insufficient stock and contacted me?
2. If there was insufficient stock, why were pre-orders of it still allowed on the website?
3. How did I receive the confirmation is there was insufficient stock?
4. How does my confirmation say Fable 3 Collectors Edition yet on your system it brings up another game?

I'm really disappointed in the service that I received. Hopefully I can still get my collectors edition as I've been looking elsewhere to no avail.

Anybody else received crappy service from them like this?

Lol. Dude, I saw someone at the Boksburg BT brach this morning that also didn't receive his Fable III collector's edition.

Actually, the funny thing is, the only shop I saw that had Fable III was at the Flea Market (!!) and get this, it was a 2nd hand copy!! WTF?! Almost bought it too - was only R400.

But yeah, I agree, BT games (and all the other retailers actually) are pretty friggin useless at selling games. Just buy online next time.

@Cyborg Exact same issue with preordering my consol from bt games, i pre-ordered my xbox 360 halo edition console and to find out day of arrival they didnt have it nor did they have any stock, put me off a sour taste towards pre-orders
