BTC doing really well, explanations?

I'm kicking myself :/

I'm trying to buy 1 and get :

I think they function kinda like a financial institution, and their near-instant EFT acceptance probably requires some kinda of security against the person from who'm they're accepting funds. It's just a whole lot easier to use them vs. setting up your own wallet, download block-chains and all the tech details I didn't really care too much about at the time. Interesting when you scratch beneath the surface though, and for anyone interested the original paper by Satoshi Nakamoto is very interesting: http://nakamotoinstitute.org/bitcoin/

I wish I could time travel to when I sold them for 12c each :(

I wish i brought a lot when the price was near worthless,

Heard some stories, people became instant millionaires if they brought just in time.

I read about mining yesterday ; seems it isn't really as easy as it was and most leave it to the mines line above.

Locked Account

There do seem to be fees?

With R6500 it won't me me buy a coin at under R6300 due to insufficient funds?

Edit: Oh they locked my account

Don't bother with mining unless you're willing to invest a serious chunk of cash, and even then I'd still rather take that money and trade instead.

Much easier and cheaper to trade.

You need a warehouse full of machines to increase your chances of finding a coin. So people with single machines join a "clan/company" farm in a group of about 50 machines. Any coin found is then divided amongst the miners. So you get 0.02 of a coin. And a coin normally takes months on average to farm. Sure you might get luck and hit 1 or 2 in quick succession but the power used and the price you pay for top end GPU's and the power consumed (Eskom) it is just not worth it :p

Are you telling me my GT210 won't manage?

;)

you can call them, they have one office in SA,
and yes the current going rate is quite high, so you wont get too much,
need to wait for the price to fall significantly, like when earlier this year when it was R2000 per bitcoin

Belive me I kicking myself I didnt invest more, by now Id have enough to buy something very nice with the cash

also they do quite a bit of checks on you, initially they will lock your account few times until they happy
with your ID book is good enough quality, your name checks out, things like that,

did the same to me initially, log a support ticket theyll unlock it,
they like a bank sometimes, if your with FNB youll know what I mean....

Not saying it won't. I'm saying your chances of hitting a coin while mining as a single person [-]could[/-] would take YEARS

This is what it takes to farm for profit

Mining is cool, but its kind of like running a ISP or DNS node,

Need big bucks to get started, and even bigger bucks to see some profit.

Rather enjoy what it does provide, a completely virtual currency that can be used absolutely anywhere with no taxes or commissions in the way.

How do the fees work?

Bought around 6,350 and took 6,475. Sold at 6,730 and credit 6,580

Not 100% sure but i belive there's a asking price, a sell price and a delay of 15-30 min before its confirmed by the BTC network.

Also there's a commission, a tiny one of 0.00005 for miners and bitx has a small fee of there own.

I've only just realised I can buy less than 1 coin ...

R6,500.00 for 1!

I wish I knew about this when they were affordable :P

EDIT : R6,500.00 when I bought

I'm also not getting the values.

https://www.bitstamp.net/ is 394.00 now with a 13.90 exchange = R5,476.60. Googling gives me around R5,485.00 - so fair enough and around the same. But BitX is giving me R5,755?

Big difference for some reason ?

I'm wondering if I can open account there and buy them cheaper ... hmmmm

Maybe, never much dug deeper,
Kind of brought when it was 3k a coin and kept it till now,

Did notice zar/usd does affect it somewhat

Also big events, like MT gox collapse,

So who knows, would love to know what actually effect it.....

Have you guys thought about using those faucets to increase your BTC? Its not much but its something
