Feels like I lost a good friend, just saw this when I went to btjunkie.org now:

2005 - 2012
This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down. We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!

I wonder how the internet will look 10 years from now?

Whaaat. I'm totally bleak, btjunkie has always been my go to destination for linux distributions...

You'll always be able to get your Linux distros somewhere. I mean, I don't like peer to peer sites shutting down, but in the end I'm not going to cry for not being able to download movies, music or software.

I'll listen to free music, or music that I actually care to support. I don't give a **** about films these days, nor series. And I'll use open source software and donate to open source organisations rather. **** the industries pushing draconian copyright laws. What are they going to win once they get all the laws changed to suit them? I'm not going to start giving them money all of a sudden after they've been dicks for decades. **** them.

On the plus side, I can't believe how resilient The Pirate Bay is. They just don't ****ing die, do they. They're really sticking it to the man. With their track record it seems they'll be there forever.

And with organisations such and Wikileaks and Anonymous being a spanner in the works for these old powers, I have a lot of hope.

Oh come on! I don't torrent often anymore but when I did I used btjunkie almost exclusively. Very sad.

Sorry, but... Never heard of btjunkie. Got my Linux elsewhere.

Torrents are old now, get news server bandwidth and nzb's.

Really it is not the end of the world, you can get all your free goodies on nzb's and for the people who need their linux ditro's you can just go to their websites and you will still be able to come right.

You may even be able to download it via http  and all distro's are on nzb's as well.

I don't like to go to their websites for the linux distros. Firstly we don't have access from SA and secondly if it is available for download, it usually is restricted by DRM. ;)
