Bubble 2.0?

Not web 1.0 or web2.0

ITs just the web evolving with marketers adding alot of hype.

The real joke is that TIME ignored the actual votes cast by their readers in choosing "You" as the Person of the Year...
They ran an online poll for some time asking people to vote, then published the "result" - which had no bearing on the poll outcome! If you look around their site you will not find a link to the poll - only to the results.
However, the poll still lives on their site and, by clicking on one of the options, you will see what the true outcome was...

Here it is: http://www.time.com/time/personoftheyear/2006/walkup/

Of course it is no great surprise that they would ignore the true winner since Hugo Chavez (who garnered 35% of the vote), along with his buddies Evo Morales (Bolivia) and Fidel Castro (Cuba) are forging a strong alliance against US imperialist interests in the south.
Not to mention the runner-up, Mahmoud Ahamdinejad (with 21%), president of Iran, who has been eloquently thumbing his nose at the USA in their role as Israel's attack-dog in the middle east ... :D

Instead, they chose the Youtube Guys who trailed with a paltry 11% ... feeble.

Go! the underdog!

Marketers and journalists have latched on to the Web 2.0 moniker with the same sort of fervour as that with which they hyped now discredited concepts such as the “new economy” and “one-to-one marketing” in the dot com heyday.
Ummm, the same way they latched onto the hacker and cracker moniker in the 80's and skewed the whole profession. You'll never see Web2.0 as it's only available to universities and other higher level institutions. The moment the public gets a hold of it it will lose its efficiency.
