I'm looking to buy a budget gaming rig as mine is ancient now. It's been giving me problems lately and I figure it's time to get rid of it.

Basically just a box with psu, mobo, cpu, ram, hdd, and of course the graphics card. I don't need a monitor, speakers, mouse or keyboard, as I've got those covered all ready.

I know I won't get much for less than R5000 for all those parts (you might prove me wrong), but I don't really want to spend any more than say R7000. That would be my upper limit, I think.

What's the best rig for those figures any of you can suggest for me? I've seen some good deals at Computer Mania for boxes, but Chaos might be a bit cheaper when it comes to graphics cards.

I would seriously consider Carbonite.co.za for building a budget rig. Second hand parts that still have warranties are all over the site.

I know it is not brand new gear, but still, you will get better quality parts for a lower price.

You should post in the hardware section, http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/forumdisplay.php/122-PC-Hardware-and-Gadgets (You can report you own post and ask the staff to move it for you)
There's also a build thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/415930-The-PC-Build-Thread/page13 which has a new site http://comogam.net/pc-builders-guide/

Thanks. I might do that. I'm always posting this stuff in the wrong places.

Will have a look at Carbonite too @Inn3rs3lf.
