Planning on surprising my dad with a new phone on Sunday (a couple days late if it's online is also fine). His needs are pretty simple: Whatsapp, music and camera. So I'm looking mostly at what has the best camera. He's partial to Nokia and Samsung but he won't complain about a gift.

What I've found so far:
Huawei Y5 Lite - R1499 from MTN
Nokia 2.2 - R1699 from Game
Samsung Galaxy A01 - R1949 from MTN
Nokia 3.2 - R1999 from Vodacom

Any other devices I should look into? Any info on their respective camera quality? Also if anyone knows where I can find any of these cheaper let me know. Thanks!

I would be looking for something with a Snapdragon chipset inside then sideload Gcam for him.

So likely the Nokia 3.2

Thanks for the recommendations. I can't really push it above R2000 (lockdown income... sigh), so I'm hoping to find similar for cheaper if possible

THe problem is the selections are VERY limited at the moment. You usually easily find a redmi for below 2K. There has been no imports since lockdown and I am afraid prices are going to be highly inflated when stock do arrive.
