Learned friends,

I am looking for some budget wireless buds which support Bluetooth multipoint. The use case is I would like to use these at work, predominantly for MS Team calls on a windows laptop. However if I need to take calls on my phone it would be great if I can just switch to the android phone without having to unpair and re-pair.

Active noise cancelling will be a bonus, but not mandatory

By budget, I am hoping I don’t need to pay more the R1.5k

If any of you guys are using this feature, how is it btw – keen to hear how the switching works and if its intrusive when in a work call on the laptop.

Thanks

It works really well on the Anker Liberty 4, they also have cheaper options. The only time it doesn't work well is if teams or WhatsApp rings on both devices. Or if you in a teams call on the one and a WhatsApp call comes in on the other. My poor ears.

Thanks for this.

Do you know if the cheaper options support Multipoint? Its not easy to see on the specifications if it does or doesnt?

This is advertised with Multipoint

Thanks for this link. I pulled the trigger on this.

Do any of the Samsung buds support Multipoint other than with Samsung devices?

So its out of your price range, but its from the same brand that is being mentioned here.

I just bought myself a pair of Soundcore Aerofit Pros largely because I can't stand in ear earphones, and over ear ones are just uncomfortable after a long time.

Since these aren't in ear types, they obviously don't block out any of the outside sound and aren't as loud and therefore don't have any ANC (not an issue for me as I have a pair that support ANC for when I need that feature).

The multipoint bluetooth though has been a damned revelation in comparison to how its worked for me with other headsets. Laptop and phone connected and it seamlessly switches between the two and reconnects insanely quickly and just picks up from where it left off.

Given the low responses on this thread I don't think many people know about this and most manufactures don't market this feature.

But its really the key feature I was looking for.

I think they do, but its been very hit and miss from my experience.
I have been through 3 headphones that "support" it, but its been atrocious support or just works in weird ways that makes no sense.

On paper the huawei freebuds 5i does what you're looking for,

and is currently at R1.5k from takealot/makro from third party sellers, you could possibly buy directly from them if you can find their details,
