Has anyone here ever traveled to Buenos Aires? Is it worth a trip? Does it live up to the hype of "the Paris of South America"?

I love Paris, but my point is: if I want Paris, I can just go there, instead of Buenos Aires - unless someone says that it is ah-mazingmeh paris was least fav stop in france >_<
Is that countryside?I have been to Buenos Aires and know a couple of people who live there. One refers to BA as a concrete jungle due to the skyscrapers, although there is a lot to do as it is massive (I assume you are talking about BA the province and not the city). If you are going to Argentina, then much better to travel to Patagonia or Salta.

Salta has desert, and mountainous landscapes while Patagonia has snow-capped mountains and hiking opportunities if that is your thing. Is that countryside?
