Hi,

I have a situation where any

/interface lte at-chat lte1 input="xxx"

command crashes the router and it then reboots. I've tried this on the latest stable RouterOS (6.42.1) as well as the current RC (6.43rc5).
The same thing happens on both my RB2011 as well as a client's RB951:

routerboard: yes
model: 2011UiAS-2HnD
serial-number: 4E1F04AA4464
firmware-type: ar9344
factory-firmware: 3.14
current-firmware: 3.33
upgrade-firmware: 6.42.1

uptime: 1h50m4s
version: 6.42.1 (stable)
build-time: Apr/23/2018 10:46:55
free-memory: 98.4MiB
total-memory: 128.0MiB
cpu: MIPS 74Kc V4.12
cpu-count: 1
cpu-frequency: 600MHz
cpu-load: 6%
free-hdd-space: 109.9MiB
total-hdd-space: 128.0MiB
write-sect-since-reboot: 943
write-sect-total: 109483
bad-blocks: 0%
architecture-name: mipsbe
board-name: RB2011UiAS-2HnD
platform: MikroTik

routerboard: yes
model: 951Ui-2HnD
serial-number: 815707F57DF2
firmware-type: ar9344
factory-firmware: 3.33
current-firmware: 3.33
upgrade-firmware: 6.43rc5

uptime: 18m8s
version: 6.43rc5 (testing)
build-time: Apr/25/2018 12:11:53
factory-software: 6.34.3
free-memory: 102.1MiB
total-memory: 128.0MiB
cpu: MIPS 74Kc V4.12
cpu-count: 1
cpu-frequency: 600MHz
cpu-load: 1%
free-hdd-space: 99.8MiB
total-hdd-space: 128.0MiB
write-sect-since-reboot: 613
write-sect-total: 73910
bad-blocks: 0%
architecture-name: mipsbe
board-name: RB951Ui-2HnD
platform: MikroTik

The LTE modem in question:

1 device="1-1" vendor="Vodafone (Huawei)" name="Vodafone (Huawei)"
vendor-id="0x12d1" device-id="0x157f" speed="480" usb-version=" 2.10"

Not seeing anything in the log on the units (apart from the notice about the reboot) nor any other similar cases on Google. I've also attached the Supout.rif file, which will hopefully shed some light on the issue.

Silly stupid question. If you do a device print and check the baud rate, what do you see?

First paragraph.

I can see you're running the latest ROS. But the firmware you appear to be running on your RB is still 3.33?

My RB951G:
routerboard: yes
model: 951G-2HnD
serial-number: 642E05A91DE2
firmware-type: ar9344
factory-firmware: 3.24
current-firmware: 6.42.1
upgrade-firmware: 6.42.1

Your RB2011:
routerboard: yes
model: 2011UiAS-2HnD
serial-number: 4E1F04AA4464
firmware-type: ar9344
factory-firmware: 3.14
current-firmware: 3.33
upgrade-firmware: 6.42.1

Try updating the firmware.

OK, that is listed as supporting the new /interface lte menu:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware#4G_LTE_cards_and_modems

Try plugging the modem into a powered USB hub and plugging the hub into the router.
This will tell you if the router is able to supply enough current to the modem.

If you still don't have any luck with at-chat (which is specific to /interface lte), try using the modem as a regular ppp modem, and then you can use /system serial-terminal, see:

are you sure you didnt make the typo when running the command? i saw you made the same typo on the mikrotik forum :D
A typo that crashes the router? Definitely a bug in RouterOS then!

I don't think /system serial-terminal works on LTE modems.

Must work with AT-Chat in order to script it.

Right, it doesn't work with modems when they are configured using /interface lte, i.e. as a network device, that's why I suggested trying to configure the modem as a regular ppp device, then trying /system serial-terminal, but do try the USB hub first.

UPDATE:

MikroTik:
Hello,

Thank you for reporting this.
We replicated this with other hardware and other modems as well.
Fixes for this will be available in upcoming versions.

Best regards,
Antons B.
