Its always been the same group that have owned Game, Makro and Builder. Even Before Walmart came along.

If you're in Durban, I've found the 2 best hardware stores to be Sallajees and Wardkiss.

The staff know whats going on, and they're reasonably priced as well.

Not much. But not all shops are open on Saturdays let alone Sundays.

You pay extra for the convenience. I will not use them on bigger/planned projects.

I've been pricing kitchen cupboards, DIY flat packs to be specific, and have found Builders cheaper than Timber City, etc.
Anyone got more suggestions or sources? I've been on the hunt for 2 months now pricing and Builders is coming in around 8% cheaper.

A big saving if you ate on a small budget...

Try Build It. Not sure about kitchen stuff, but we bought 50 bags of tile cement at BW and down the road at Build It, it was R10 cheaper per bag, tile flex was R115 vs R165 and their tile trim was also R10 each less at Build It..doubt I'll waste my time at BW again.
