Builders Warehouse Table View - what are your alternatives?

As the title says, what are your alternatives for DIY to Builders Warehouse Tables View, and other Builders Warehouse stores do not qualify for the list.

The only positive about them for me is the proximity to where I live, there is really nothing else.

So, if you know of better places for the following, who are they and where are they?
- Power Tools and general tools
- Consumables like fasteners, glue, paint, sanding paper etc.
- Lumber (Pine PAR, Meranti PAR, boards etc.
- Genereal DIY stuff

Builders is not good for my blood pressure and will be the cause of my death or incarceration for life if I have to go there ever again.

Power tools: https://toolservices.co.za/. They are in Claremont and actually know what they are talking about. Owner run.

They are excellent for power tools, use them often.

Am more referring to those weekends when you want to do something and realise you need something.

If I plan projects ahead Builders is not on the list of approved suppliers anyway.

Brights at Table Bay Mall seems OK so far, but they are not open on Sundays and do not stock as much in store, but they can usually get what I want if I know in advance.

Brights near Makro is open on Sundays until 3 or 4 I think.
 
I go to Brights most of the time. For general fastenings and such they usually have what I need.

Tableview Builders is shockingly poor service-wise and general store layout is garbage too. I'll only go there if I know exactly what I want, what I want is limited and I'm in a rush.
 
Builders Warehouse service has to be one of the worst Ive ever experienced. I dont think they sell bad products, but it always feels like they pick up tik addicts on the side of the road to work the isles and pay them R5 an hour NOT to help you.

My local Northriding branch is particularly bad, I stopped supporting them years ago and I am a converted Chaimberlains fan now. I get greeted by the door by eager and well trained staff.

For everything else there is online shopping.

This, the staff walks as if the floor is covered in glue.
 
Seems to me, they are the same all over. The floors of two stores in close vicinity, Faerie Glen and Woodlands, have also glue on the floor and unhelpful staff.
I also rather go to Chamberlains.
 
There's also the chinese (?) shop in Bayside that has lots of odds and ends, going back to Brights I think the guy told me they were open on Sunday when I was there last week, but the store hours indicate closed so it could be worth a phone call if you need something on a Sunday.

Went there Sunday a week ago to see what Brights have and they were closed.

Not such a big deal, only occasionally I realise on a Sunday I need something or I have time to go and buy what I need.
At least the service there is good so far, questions are answered properly and I ordered stuff which they did not have in stock at the branch but got for me by Monday when I ordered on the Saturday.

I get these things from Gelmar. Not sure if there is one near you though

Closest one is probably Montague Gardens - still better than having to go to Builders.

The one near Makro? That's strange, the chap at the Building supplies counter said they would be open, I was going to go collect some cement,etc but cancelled when I saw it was going to rain.

Oh no, sorry, thought you were talking about Table Bay Mall.

Going there today, will ask about the one at Makro.

I recall years ago there was only one Brights, in Bellville, and they were open very long hours, early morning till rather late in the evening, I almost think it was something like 07:00 - 22:00 or could even be later, Monday through Sunday.
