Building an Electric Guitar

I have been thinking of building an electric guitar.

Anyone done this before? I expect it would not be an easy task but I think I'm up to the job.

My ballie started building one but gave up... it should be pretty easy though, just buy all the components, carve out a peice of wood so they fit and you done. Acoustics don't even come into it.

He is busy building a cello at the moment.

I looked at doing it once, even designed the shape, but never actually got round to taking it further

GuitarForumsSA is the place to go - sure there are quite a few okes there doing this already.
I know that they have a list of Luthiers up there (Nationally) that you could maybe get in contact with.
