hi guys , soon i will be upgrading my antique core 2 duo 3ghz pc , and have been thinking about the following components. i need your comments or suggestions.

and can you wait until January?
 
That looks like a hard core gaming machine.

I would suggest you get another monitor, one that supports G-Sync, since you have the geforce.
 
And maybe a M.2 NVME hhd?

Is there a specific reasons for the Asus GTX1080 Turbo | 8gb gpu, why not take the ASUS STRIX edition with that mobo?

ditch the wd blue drives for the wd red drives.. you will get better performance and lifespan out f the wd reds for your nas setup..
 
If you mostly do gaming get the top i5 6600k instead of i7 save some money and spend it elsewhere
