Building plans for shadeport?

Are building plans required to erect a shadeport?

When I did mine, I had to present a sketch of the planned shadeport in relation to the other buildings. They inspected it and gave me a one page permit thing, allowing me to put it up.

iirc They said that if the shadeport is not attached to the building you can go the sketch route, but if it is attached to the building, you need to resubmit the complete building plan.

Depends entirely on the municipality...

You would more than likely need them if you are in Durban... dunno about the other cities.
