Dell D630 Setup on MTN Pwned
Hi Swoosh
Follow these steps.
In most cases the machine does not come with the modem software & drivers pre-installed .
Step 1
Download the application & drivers from www.dell.com under support.
Or use this link:
http://support.us.dell.com/support/...eid=R155199&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=206962
Once the application is downloaded & installed a new program called Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility will register.
Kindly noted that the software only lists vodafone, you however get the option to manually add your own network provider.
Step 2
Insert sim card.
Assemble & power-up machine.
Step 3
Launch the Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility program & allow system to initialize & detect network sevices.
Step 4
Configuration:
To setup the connection, on the Dell Mobile Broadband card utility:
Click edit>
Profile Manager>
New>
fill in or add home network setting>
profile name: MTN Internet
apn: internet
Step 5
Connect

I put this here because most of the time you have PAID for this support. DELL MUST honour their responsibility to their customers. It is a DELL device. DELL should be YOUR first line of assistance.
Have you tried to help yourself
You will get an incredible ammount of help here -- because that is the nature of forums like this. Unfortunately it takes the HEAT off above mentioned manufacturers and their first line responsibilities.
It also tends to take away forumites will to enage with their problems THEMSELVES. It stops them reading the FAQ's AND using the Forum search function.
