So we are looking to replace the oven in our kitchen as it was one of those slimline defy oven/hob combo's and we replaced the hob with a gas one so now the oven has dials which are no longer in use.

Additionally, it's a very basic oven and looking for something a biut more modern and multi-functional.

Looking for any recommendations on either brands and/or models.

Ones I have been looking at are:
Defy Gemini Thermofan
Grundig Multifunction GEBM 35000B
Bosch Series 8

Also thoughts on the airfry functions in comparison to a normal airfryer?\

Thanks

Always had good experience with the defy's.

Defy is great. Eyelevel oven works and looks so much nicer.
Oven is way better than a air fryer. Air fryer just heats up quicker because its smaller and you can only cook small amount of food. Air fryer will get a more crispy outside but also dryer food.

Replaced our old one with Defy Gemini Thermofan (one that has two of them), no complaints and it is decent looking.

LOL I love that they have added this. In 2040 people will be like what's that stupid function all the old ovens have?

Like a microwave that has a setting for "trout" you have to explain that in the 1980s people just put everything in their microwave and called that "dinner".

Installed a Bosch Series 6 some years ago and very happy with it.

Get a steam oven. That's the secret to professional baking results. And they have become affordable now. Previously they were only available for professional/commercial kitchens.

Do not even think about getting an oven without steam injection.

This is a great deal:

We went for this with the matching hob. No reason other than price was better than some competion and their 60cm hob had a better layout than most. Oven has been rock solid, works well and good features. Nice touch on this one is that the entire inner panel is a piece of glass that comes out for easy cleaning and it means oven door statys a lot cooler than some others

Yip. People don't realize an air fryer is just a mini convection oven.
Watch the technology connections video I posted earlier. It being smaller, with a relatively large fan does make them work a bit differently.

I have a wire basket for oven chip, and even when I match the temps, the fan in the big oven doesn't do them as nicely as the air fryer does.

I have a bosch undercounter oven. No issues. Replaced the nasty, dirty oven that was there before.

It won't work the same as an air fryer. But having a fan in the oven is great for other types of baking.

We got a Candy Model very similar to this. Having the extra capacity is a game changer tbh.

Assumed it wouldn't. Just curious if it could replace my airfryer (remove redundant clutter). Seems I will be keeping mine for the smaller stuff then.

Steam function was something that caught my eye, especially like you said for baking. Didn't actually even think to look for prices on TakeAlot. Was mostly looking on Hirsch's and Tafelberg. Not sure on Hirsch's but Tafelberg to me is overpriced even though the wife swears by them.

Philips airfryer. I haven't switched on my oven in years. Else get the Bosch.
I do have an Instant Vortex. Will still keep it but just crious if the oven functions the same or just a gimic.

Exactly why I'm looking as well. House came with that stock standard Defy Slimline but having upgraded the hob to gas, I now have dials that aren't needed. Also takes forever to heat up.
