I'm experimenting with SendBlaster (www.sendblaster.com) to send out a newsletter, but...

The received newsletter looks perfect in MS Outlook, but is not intelligible in Mac Mail or any web-mail app, like HotMail, Gmail, etc.

The design and layout of the SendBlaster supplied templates is rather boring and uninspired, so instead, I create the newletter in iWeb (mac), display it in a browser on my PC, and copy and paste it into the SendBlaster message composer.

Is there something wrong with my method, should I be using some other bulk HTML Emailer, or are there some basic rules that I should be aware of?

HTML Emails - Taming the beast

To make things easier, here’s a quick summary of which popular email clients support the CSS approach, and which ones rely on tables and inline CSS to display your message as intended.

Email client What you should use
Yahoo! Mail CSS
Hotmail CSS*
Gmail Tables and inline CSS
Outlook and Outlook Express CSS
Lotus Notes Tables and inline CSS
AOL 9 CSS
Thunderbird CSS
Mac Mail CSS
Entourage CSS
Eudora for the Mac Tables and well, no CSS
