bulk SMS and Email?

Hi,

Im running a class/primary school and would like to setup a bulk sms and email system. For email I figure I could just write a PHP script and be done with it but for the SMS i'm a bit stumped. Does anyone know any good + cheap services for sending bulk SMS's?

im looking at about 20-50 parents.

20 - 50 sms's doesn't class as even the lowest level of bulk tbh... but you should hunt around for basic services that just let you buy credits and send a packet to their servers and they'll send it as an SMS for you.

I wouldn't exactly call 20 - 50 "bulk" though. I haven't really done any bulk sms, but I see VC has a service: https://www.vodacommessaging.co.za/bulksms.asp

We do bulksms, I can suggest taking a bundle of 500 credits as that's the minimum with us and most sms providers.. If 500 is too much I can do a smaller bundle for you, 250 credits at 32c each. You can use the web based platform so no need to write any scripts or anything.

For email, I'm sure Gmail will allow you to send as 20-50 emails are not that much. If you really want to use a bulk email system I suggest MailChimp which is free for upto 2000 subscribers/parents.

Mrssa offers a system where you can use normal bundles and airtime.
