Hi,

I need a web based bulk SMS service to all ZA networks.

Clickatell charges 40.5c per SMS.

Is there a cheaper service - especially considering Vodacom is offering SMS's at 23c each.

www.winsms.co.za

It all depends on how much bulk! And... you won't get anything close to Vodacom's tarrif. Maybe you should approach them directly and consider getting a 3G data card - they can be used to SMS from the PC as well... just not sure of the API and UI.

bulksms.com is good as well - down to 21c depending on use.

Otherwise, depends on needs.

Some options:

Long term campaign? Try nowsms.com for software and get a gprs modem and mtn SMSonly package (19c each)
once off campaign - same as above, but download the free nowsms trial package :-)

If you need help, PM me and we can talk.

Cellphone
+Charger

MP3 player

Digital camera

Bunch of datacables...

And now you want me to add another one to the list!:D

I feel your pain :-)

A good, new cell phone with a data cable will also do. I use my 6680 for outbound SMS / MMS etc. Works a treat.
ClickaTell and BulkSMS are both very good - I prefer ClickaTell for the "complex" stuff, but BulkSMS is good for SMS and WAP Push - cheap and quick and a useful interface for account management. AND (!!) their email support is by far the best I have dealt with - I get replies in under 5 minutes during working hours. Compared to VodaZone (4 days and waiting....) they are brilliant. ([email protected]).

Can try http://www.mobilitymethods.com. Mobility method can go down to 16c per message

One problem is the local networks make it all a difficult as possible. MTN seems to delay messages for up to 12 hours and Vodacom does not want to allow messages from external sources.

Is he advertising?

When is it ok to bump old threads? When posting new relevant info?

Yip, bumping a relevant older thread to which you wish to add something is fine but he had bumped every thread that mentioned sms and then proceeded to cover them with links to sites in which he clearly has an interest.
