Left my Cell C 3G E1820 on the whole night. This morning it was extremely hot with distinct burned plastic smell coming from it. The laptop doesn't see it anymore. Hope Cell C will exchange it under warranty but still puzzled how this hardware can fail like this.

where is it plugged in? near the back of the machine where all the hot air exits? mine also gets hot but it's only ever 'on' for a couple of hours at a time.
No it was plugged in with extension cable through USB hub together with an external hard drive. The USB hub and the hard drive are fine.

I leave mine plugged in for days at a time in a Sitecom 3G router, it gets hot but is still working, take it back, looks like you got a bad one.

Nope, wasn't even downloading. Just forgot to disconnect last night and had few pages still open on the screen but no downloads.
