Sometimes it is unavoidable to burn a bridge, especially when your boss is sour grapes that you resigned and gets all pathetic and petty. It is amazing how some business people conduct themselves when things don't go their way. As an employer you can't takes someones resignation to heart or get all personal over it. obviously that is assuming that said resignation was done adequately with no hard feelings.
I burnt the bridge with my previous employer. I resigned..the very next day when I came into work they told me to take my stuff and f*** off.
I took them to the CCMA today because they now refuse to fill in forms to allow me to get my pension
Well in this example, a client I worked at a couple moons ago heard about the retrenchment saga that was occuring at my workplace and offered me a position. As I understand my current employer is still helping out with some maintenance but no contract has been signed between the two (previous agreement lapsed and was sub-contracted to the company so no direct link contractually between company and client).
Now it's a real di*k move I know. The offer would expose me to new technologies and is alot closer to home..

Well already typed out my resignation letter and have a meeting with the team lead next week.
Hopefully they take it well..will update.
Found out that we wont be getting bonuses, no christmas party and increases might not happenif I do stay at the old company.
Just found out that a couple other people have resigned to go to the new place and it seems inevitable that bridges shall be burned as it looks like we were poached.. Will see what happens at the meeting though.
