Don't carry on as if it happens just as often in Europe. :rolleyes: This happens almost daily in ZA. It's actually not even funny anymore. You turn on the news, there's some building being burnt down, or cars pelted with rocks, or roads barricaded with burning tyres. :(
 
So what does the USA or whatever have to do with Africa though? So it is fine to burn shyte down because people in other countries do it? O let's burn this library down i heard they are burning stuff in france.

You just being your usual flippant poster self here.
The discussion moved from condemning burning down stuff to: "TIA, It's a black thing, Africans being Africans, blah blah...". Some of us take exception to this unchecked black/Africa bashing - antowan wrote some guidelines just yesterday, yet here we are a day later and people are without facts suggesting burning stuff is a black thing. Reminds of that Nazi on Oz who also suggested the same thing when someone was burnt the prison.
 
Hey, here's a comment to put in the pipe of the 'but-it-happens-in-other-countries' crowd: Non-black South Africans DON'T follow this behaviour in South Africa. Jagged little pill? Yes. Sorry. In general they may not be as affected but non service delivery does affect us all.

I believe lack of education is a primary factor here and the excuses for that are running very thin I'm afraid. Bottom line is that it's unacceptable behaviour with the cause being an incompetent government full of empty promises that they have no intention of keeping.

That means the discussion hasn't actually moved anywhere ;) This is a common African practice, this burning, destruction, plundering and opportunistic looting.
 
I'm sorry R13 if you find me thinking blacks do this as bad then fine, when last did a group of white protesters in this country burnt anything down? So please tell me why it is not a black thing in Africa to do this type of thing? Maybe you can link me to stories of a white crowd going ape shyte and burning tyre's, schools, cars, libraries.

I am not saying all blacks do this but dude get real, i bet now i will be called a racist.

what I want to know, is what good would this do? Not only are they contributing to pollution but they just burnt down a valuable community asset. Sometimes peoples mentality surprises me, like the whole metrorail issue, train is late? burn the motherf*#ker down...... after its burnt to ashes "oh sh*t how we gona go home now?" seriously........

It is true... When last did white africans burn something down. So it is not un true saying that in africa only black africans burn stuff down..
Maybe if I burn down ekhuruleni muni they will do something about my neighbours!!! It is pathetic service delivery..

In the Transkei - the locals have burnt down this one school 3 times!!!

Because they all failed matric and the roads are too bad to get to school everyday - Kill, Maim, Rape , Destroy, Vote for ANC

So it is fine for ANC to always use the race card? It is fine not to get a job because you are white? Sorry i don't see your point. If people state a fact the only reason you should be replying is to either denounce it or defend it. Now if you denounce it or defend it then it would be a good idea to maybe state your reasons other than going on about race.

If white people did all the burning and i said it is the whites you can be sure the reaction would be different.

If stating facts makes you uncomfortable you can always move along to the next thread.
