cpu overheating, cpu fan too slow.

Powersupply stable.

As for flames - take it to a pc shop and have it checked out!.
If you're adventurous and don't mind spending money on the problem, open up the case, switch the pc on and see where the flames comes from - just get some marsh mellows...

and yes, Invest in some good cooling for your pc!.

thanks lab will have it checked out any advice as to what cooling i should get

Is your pc dusty rexter? I've seen a few instances with burning involved where dust has caused alot of overheating.

As far cooling, that depends on what your pc can handle. If you can take 12cm fans, I suggest some Zalman F3 fans. They are really quiet and move alot of air. Places like take2 have them.

Your cpu cooler depends on what cpu you have obviously, but you get alot of different solutions for cooling that

hi wizard there wa a bit of dust but also i realised theat whenever i open an application i can hear the fan spinning faster then when the app is opened it goes quiet so mayb there is a cooling problem also

it sounds like the cpu fan is spinning faster to cope with the heat - Look up Zalman online, have a look at the different cooling options for your cpu type. As Wizard said, if you have a case with a couple of free fan intakes, purchase some fans to pull air out the back of the case.

Also, the trick is to setup your cooling in such a way, that it takes care of the problem, and not sound like a hairdryer gone mad!. For this, Definately go Zalman!
