I was on a translux about a month ago coming from Louis Trichardt..we had to get off just after Centurion cos there was smoke in the cabin.

I dont have my own wheels yet and Greyhound does not stop over in LTT so I am at the mercy of these guys..

Lame service, aircon hardly works..boy have they gone down to the dogs :(

A few years ago when I had to use them, they weren't that bad. between all the busses that stop in Pietersburg, they were the best price and fearly good service, so I never had reason to somplain. Greyhound and Intercape are just too expensive!

Something very fishy about that.

The bus's engine is at the back and the fire is burning front to back

Did you watch the clip? The bus' engine is on fire - prolly just smoke coming out the front of the cabin...

I drove past a burning Golden Arrow bus about a month ago when doing driving lessons, in Rosmead Avenue here in Cape Town. I think it was just the front right tire, but oh boy did it smell! Horrible acrid smoke that left me coughing for 10 minutes.

I think they don't service them properly these days. I saw a few breakdowns lately!

I am just glad everyone got out safe, just finished watching the videos and seeing the pictures.

Amazing how the bus first started off with smoke, then all of sudden caught fire.
What happen with the bus driver ? Did her perhaps not have a license...

And check how everyone escaped lucky call

Seems like translux will have to cough up money a lot of media attention.

Reminds me of SA ROAD LINK a 1/2 years ago about that incident over the festive season.

This was the worst.

I would like to know the cause of the explosion.

Looks like 9/11, Cape Town seriously got their money worth :)

Just translux might get sued, they terrible buses they do not service them regular.
I rather travel with SA ROADLINK personal choice :)
