Business Name Change

Hi Guys,

i was hoping i could get some assistance on how to change a business name to another name, i registered my company via fnb https://www.fnb.co.za/business-banking/cipc-registration.html , everything went well except that fnb does not reserve a name for you though they do want you to put a name during the application process.
so in the end my business name is CK2013/...PTY LTD, this is the same nmae on the business bank card and account when making payments.

i have been looking on the cipc website with no luck and they dont answer phones, i am registered on cipc and have the desired name reserved, i want to change the ck... to the name i reserved if possible i want to know the costs involved.

Have you tried an auditor or accountant?

They will be able to do a name change for you.
 
Why don't you just register a different company through CIPC and have the old one's bank account closed and have the name deregistered.

hmm is it really that difficult to change a name ? damn. will see if i can go to cipc on friday, reason for registering via fnb was to avoid those damn lines.

For a CC you need to submit a name change request with the following document - http://www.cipc.co.za/Companies_files/CoR9_1.pdf
Once approval is granted, you then need to complete a CK2 - http://www.cipc.co.za/CC_files/CK2.pdf

For a pty ltd, you need to change your MOI and submit using this form - http://www.cipc.co.za/Companies_files/CoR15_2.pdf,
and submit the changes with the following document - http://www.cipc.co.za/Companies_files/CoR9_4.pdf

You need to follow proper internal company procedures to do this, remember that!

Thanks DJ, it is for a pty ltd and i will follow proper procedures lol,
