Hey everyone

I'm looking to team up with someone who has a business or an idea and maybe we can work on it and be partners, we all want to make a profit so i think its a good idea if we can work together share ideas and maybe create a gem in the process :) .

I have knowledge in Internet Marketing and know how to promote a business online to its best of its ability. If anyone has a business or idea, please do PM me and maybe we can make some good money together.

Thanks

Traditionally these things have one tech guy and one business/idea/marketing/finance guy.

So to be very blunt here - I suspect you'd have to bring more to the table before anyone plays ball. Still...I think I can point you in the right direction...ygpm.

I'm starting to understand the philosophy of having more than 2 co-founders.

Building any type of business (especially in a hostile SA market) requires a team effort. Bringing the product faster to market and making sure the market knows about it.

Will be interesting to see where this discussion goes.

Definitely this. You need someone with ideas, you need market research to see if the idea is viable, someone who can market and gain interest before you even have a product or service and possibly make pre-sales based on a prototype or first round service display. You will later need someone with technical skills, accounting, law skills etc. Although these aren't prerequisites from the get go many make the mistake of never implementing the skills to the right tasks or getting the right people to help.

Too many people take the route of: idea -> make product/offer service -> market (if they do any at all) -> nothing! and then they wonder why it doesn't work out

Do you think accounting and legal need to be part of the team as well?

I was thinking that those could be outsourced.

Ideally, I think (maybe) it should be:

highly-technical founder, mix-biz-tech founder, highly-biz founder

OR

Tech guy, Operations/finance guy, Marketing/Sales guy

So basically you're wanting someone to basically give you a share in a business in exchange for you doing the advertising?...Unless you're bringing other business acumen to the table, and some capital I very much doubt it will happen.

I was taught that a good startup needs the following. Good technical person, good marketing person and good business person. It is seldom (or never) that one person can fulfill all three, therefore you need to select a partner that fills the gap

At the beginning these tasks can be shared. The focus needs to be on a "true" 50/50 split of effort though. Of course it's impossible to get an exact split of effort but you both need to make sure you are contributing all the time otherwise it's easy to get disillusioned and for one member to quit early.
